The mission of the Sun Valley Center for the Arts is to provoke and stimulate the imagination while opening hearts and minds through excellence in diverse arts programming.

The Sun Valley Center for the Arts is a non-profit educational arts organization founded in 1971 by Glenn and Bill Janss. The Center offers cultural experiences that are exceptional for a community located far from urban centers. Our purpose is community service, and the arts are an integral part of our development as human beings.

We provide experiences in three different areas:

Visual Arts: offering exhibitions that range widely in scope, structure, and subject, including works by nationally and internationally recognized contemporary artists and museum-quality educational exhibitions.

Performing Arts: presenting a spectrum of the nation’s finest performing artists: programs feature chamber music, blues, jazz, folk, rock, contemporary theater, film, and dance.

Education and Humanities: offering art classes for adults, families, and kids as well as lectures, discussion groups, and conferences on various topics.

EXPANDING UNDERSTANDING: Several times a year, Center departments collaborate on projects that explore a theme or concept in depth. Through this multidisciplinary approach we strive to give our audience a variety ways of looking at one topic in order to broaden their appreciation and understanding.
