KIDS SUMMER ART CAMP: Storytelling Through Art with Danica Robrahn & Jennifer Marquez

Monday, July 11, 9:00 am

$350/$400 nonmembers

Does your artwork have something to say? This week long, full-day art camp gives 3rd through 5th grade students the opportunity to develop artistic skills, engage with peers and the community, and make original artwork. The camp includes field trips where participants will look at art in a gallery setting and meet local artists. Using a variety of 2D and 3D processes, campers will spend the week expressing stories they want to share through their art, developing their own style in the process. The Center’s teaching artist, Danica Robrahn and visiting art teacher, Jennifer Marquez are excited to get creative with young artists this summer!

Danica Robrahn attended Orange Coast College and transferred to California State University, Long Beach where she graduated with a BA in Art Education and a Single Subject Credential to teach art. After falling in love with the fiber department, she earned a BFA in 3D Mixed Media Fiber and decided to move back home to Idaho. She has been The Center’s Teaching Assistant for the past 3 years.

Jennifer Marquez is a California high school art teacher. She received two degrees from California State University, Long Beach, one a BA in Art Education and the other a BFA in 3D Mixed Media Fiber where she met and became friends with Danica Robrahn. She is currently employed with Alliance College-Ready Public Schools. She was recognized as the California Art Education Association’s Rookie of the Year in 2015.

This class is held Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm at The Center, Hailey.
