Art can be puzzling. Usually there is more to it than meets the eye. Looking at artwork with people who can help answer questions or give some background is a great way to learn more and enjoy an exhibition or an artist on a deeper level. Join us!
On select Thursdays at 5:30pm, the public is welcome to join an informal and informative tour of the current exhibition. Typically small, tours are led by members of The Center’s curatorial staff or by trained volunteer docents who give their time to study the works in the exhibition and offer insights about artists, subject, style and content. Enjoy a glass of wine while you join in the conversation.
The Center offers interactive gallery tours for students of all ages. Teachers are invited to schedule visits to specific exhibitions. While here, students will have the opportunity to discuss the artwork on display, try their hand at media and processes exhibited and explore ideas presented in the exhibition. In the past year, students from every school and every grade have toured the gallery.
To schedule a school tour, please complete our school tour request form.
Want to learn more about an exhibition but can’t make the scheduled tours? Center staff members are happy to schedule private tours for individuals, families or groups.
