Jill and David Hitchin built their home with a distinctive arched copper roof, naming it “Chanteclair” after the symbol for the Gallic rooster. The melodious name suits this peaceful, romantic setting, with National Forest on three sides and a spectacular view of Griffin Butte. The house blends harmoniously into its natural setting, and indoors, the European contemporary décor features antiques and mementoes from the couple’s international travels. A magnificent stone fountain, patterned after the Aga Khan’s signature fountain in Sardinia, graces the homes outdoor patio, where you will gather to enjoy a spectacular summer sunset. Not only is the home exquisite but the hosts are too. You will become fast friends with Jill and David by the end of the evening. And caterer David Fox is no stranger to the Vintner Dinner. He has created many exceptional menus over the years in support of the Sun Valley Center for the Arts. David is a master at pairing a meal of fresh and unique ingredients with premium wines. As you savor his fantastic and flavorful creations, Russell Joy of Patz & Hall will share his extensive knowledge of wines with you, pouring a variety of the winery’s signature Sonoma Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, perfectly matched with each course.
