Tonight, one lucky winner will take home three bottles of Antica’s renowned wines, one magnum of the sold out 2008 Townsend Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and two 750ml bottles of the extraordinary 2012 Townsend Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. Live Lot #31 – Chill Out in Chile

You have never been to a winery like this. We promise. Come and discover a unique and exceptional one-of-a kind vineyard, with a holistic concept that will leave you thunder-struck. It is not in vain that the indigenous people call this area Millahue, the “Place of Gold.” Here you will find a new way of looking at the land, and without a doubt you will find the “gold” in a superb wine that will leave you enamored.

Two of you will be flown from the U.S. to Santiago, Chile, and from there you will head south to spend five luxurious nights in a suite at the incomparable Viña Vik Hotel. The hotel sits high in the untamed hills, with breathtaking views of the Andes mountain range in the distance. Viña Vik welcomes guests through an architecturally stunning open public living area and garden. Every suite boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing guests to take in the majestic views. Beyond the public living areas, guests will find a striking cantilevered pool made of Absolute Nero granite extending out over the valleys and lake below, offering the sensation of swimming above the vineyard.

The vineyard retreat is perched on a hilltop above a lake at the center of this spectacular 11,000-acre vineyard with panoramic 360-degree views of the vines, multiple valleys, hills, forests and mountains with the majestic Andes Mountains in the distance. Spend a day discovering the magic of the Viña Vik winery with a private tour. Your stay also includes on-site activities such as trekking, horseback riding and biking, or you can visit numerous neighboring vineyards to sample more of Chile’s finest wines.

As a tantalizing introduction to this trip, tonight’s winning bidders will also bring home an astounding addition to any wine collection—a case of the VIK 2010. On the nose, this wine is complex and intense, with notes of red raspberries and cherries, harmoniously blended with hints of tobacco and light floral notes. The palate opens up to flavors of mixed red fruits, accompanied by sweet spices, hazelnut and touches of balsamic. Firm in structure and elegant in style, finegrained tannins reveal a soft yet vivacious finish. VIK 2010 presents a great balance between fruit, alcohol and tannins.

Travel must be completed before July 1, 2016 at a mutually convenient time with blackout dates of December 10, 2015-January 31, 2016. Trip must be booked 90 days in advance.

Silent Lot #135 – Vineyard {511}

Located just two miles southwest of Calistoga, California, Diamond Mountain has a long and rich winemaking history in Napa Valley. Wineries located in the Diamond Mountain District (DMD) AVA are small-production, family-owned wineries, ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand cases each year. In 2008, Ed and Irene Ojdana purchased a six-acre estate on Diamond Mountain. The unique site produces low yielding, small berries that reveal a rich and concentrated wine with flavors of blackberries and cassis. To soften the tannins, typical of mountain fruit, Vineyard {511} Cabernet Sauvignon is aged in 100% French oak for 30 months, followed by another 12 months of bottle aging before it is released. Enjoy this three-bottle vertical of the vineyard’s Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, starting with the 2009, its first release, presented in a beautiful wooden box, and appreciate the vintage-to-vintage nuances that occur in a single-vineyard wine. Additionally, with this lot you can secure an invitation for four people to Vineyard {511}’s annual Harvest Party, overlooking Diamond Mountain and the stunning vineyard.

Silent Lot #133 – French Bordeaux

These two exotic bottles of French Bordeaux from the 1982 vintage are ready and waiting for you to enjoy together. And what a pair they are—a 1982 Château Gloria St. Julian Red Bordeaux and a 1982 Château Brane-Cantenac Red Bordeaux Blend from Margaux, France. Both wines hail from the important appellation of the Haut-Medoc district of Bordeaux in southwestern France. Saint-Julien is a small area with a big reputation as a reliable source of consistently elegant, age-worthy wines. And the Brane-Cantenac received 90 points from Wine Spectator: “This shows wonderful finesse. Brick red in color, with a garnet edge. Lovely perfumed aromas of blackberry and chocolate, with a hint of raisin. Medium-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, sweet fruit finish.” These two beauties want to go home with you tonight.

Silent Lot #132 – WALT

WALT Wines, owned by seasoned vintners Kathryn Walt Hall and Craig Hall, is dedicated to the production of premier Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Pacific Coast’s most distinctive vineyard sites, spanning nearly 1,000 miles and including Sta. Rita Hills, Sonoma County, Anderson Valley and the Willamette Valley. Their focus is on precision, non-interventionist winemaking, thereby allowing the wines to naturally and honestly express the character of the site where the wines are grown. Tonight’s offering is a Double Magnum of the winery’s 2012 La Brisa Pinot Noir. This appellation blend is composed of several select vineyards throughout the Russian River Valley. The resulting wine is a harmonic chorus of vineyard sites and clones, a complex and delicious Sonoma County blend. Deep garnet in color, the wine offers a perfume of strawberry jam, fresh cranberry and hints of pinot funk. Flavors of pomegranate and violets segue into a sweet, lush and lively palate with a bright, lengthy finish. Stephen Tanzer at the International Wine Cellar gave it 90 points, saying, “On the exotic side, finishing with very good cut and slow-building, harmonious tannins that add grip. Lots of energy here.” Grab onto the energy and don’t let go.
