Arrowood is 100% Sonoma. Since 1986, they have been producing high-character wines from sustainably and organically farmed vineyards west of the Mayacamas Ridge, a region that is particularly well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon, Arrowood’s signature wine. Located nearby, Lasseter Vineyards has been a source of grapes for Arrowood Winery for almost a decade and was certified organic in 2003. The Cabernets they plant deliver bold fruit without herbal characteristics and provide structure and tannins for a winning combination. Tonight, place your bid for four bottles of the 2007 Arrowood Cabernet Sauvignon Lasseter Vineyard, a wine that can contribute to the greater good and stand out on its own. Give in to the temptation and let yourself be captivated. You won’t regret it.

In 1979 R. Thornton Boswell founded Château Boswell and began producing Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The Château Boswell caves, 65 feet below the estate hillside vineyard, were designed to green building specifications with the desire to continue to be responsible stewards of the land. As the first certified Napa Green Winery, Chateau Boswell continues to preserve and protect the Napa Valley through their practices. The team at Château Boswell produces small-lot, premium wines that display the unique characteristics of their vineyard sources through old-world, low-intervention winemaking techniques. By far the smallest bottling of Cabernet Sauvignon under the Jacquelynn label, the winery’s Jacquelynn Cuvée represents the more experimental side of their winemaking process. Since the launch of the brand in 2002, this wine has never been the same blend twice. While the Cuvée will always remain in the Bordeaux tradition, it offers the perfect outlet to try new vineyards, blends and fermentation techniques. Six bottles of the 2003 vintage is a jackpot find…and it could be all yours if you act fast.

In 1992 Debbie and Randy Lewis established a small family winery in Napa Valley and were joined by their son Dennis in 1999. The winery’s total production is approximately 9,000 cases annually of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The 2009 Hillstone Vineyard Cabernet is sourced from a small hillside vineyard at the Rutherford home of Carol and George Biel. Planted in 1993, the vines at Hillstone Vineyard are rooted in cobbly, light loam soils, terraced on a steep, west-facing slope in Rutherford. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in new French oak, the 2009 vintage is deeply fruited with wild blackberry and currant, and aromas of espresso, sweet sandalwood and cedar oak spices. Fleshy, ripe and round on entry, the palate picks up weight and length with fine rustic tannins. Take home a half case of this beautiful wine tonight before someone else beats you to it.

Buehler Vineyards is a small, family-owned winery located in the mountains east of St. Helena in Napa Valley. The hillside vineyards are planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon, focusing on low yields, meticulous vineyard management, and minimalist winemaking techniques to create wines of uncommon complexity and depth. This Double Magnum of their 2005 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon garnered 90 points from The Wine Spectator, which sang its praises, saying, “The estate fruit lends intensity to the wine, but winemaker David Cronin pursues a well-proportioned style, emphasizing balance and classic Napa aromas such as blackberry, cedar and mineral.” This is the Cabernet of your dreams. Make your dreams come true tonight.

Oakville Ranch is the original mountain vineyard of the sub-appellation that produces the New World’s most celebrated Cabernets. Covering just two square miles at the heart of Napa Valley, the Oakville district may be small, but its wines play a very big role in the connoisseur’s collection. At 1,400 feet above the valley floor, the Oakville Ranch vineyards produce fruit that speaks from the appellation’s signature red volcanic soil with a mountain accent. Available to you tonight is a Double Magnum of the vineyard’s 2005 Cabernet Franc Robert’s Blend, which won a silver medal in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and earned 91 points from the Connoisseur’s Guide to California Wine. The review had this to say: “The wine is both tight and slightly supple at the front of the palate and picks up a bit of the variety’s crunching tannin in the latter half. It wants service with beef steaks or roasts and has plenty of stuffing for five to eight years of aging.”

In 1968, the Trefethen family purchased seven farms surrounding a magnificent, but run-down 19th-century winery in southern Napa Valley. True to the family’s vision of creating a classic wine estate, they have never purchased outside grapes. Instead, they take great care of their two sustainably-farmed estate vineyards in the Oak Knoll District. Trefethen Family Vineyards produces a diverse range of award-winning varietal, blended and reserve wines exhibiting the classic hallmarks of fine wine quality: richness with elegance, concentration with finesse, complexity with harmony and sophistication with approachability. These two bottles of wine, the 2011 Trefethen Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2013 Trefethen Family Vineyards Estate Chardonnay (90 points from The Wine Advocate), presented tonight in a special wooden box, exemplify the family’s passion for the land, its people and the art of crafting exceptional Napa Valley wines.

In 1971, the Sokol Blosser family planted grapes on just five acres in the Dundee Hills southwest of Portland. As one of the pioneering wineries of the region, Sokol Blosser has played a key role in developing and shaping the now-prominent Oregon wine industry. The winery is still family owned and operated, with the second generation now at the helm: siblings Alex and Alison Sokol Blosser. To thrive, Pinot Noir grapes need a particular climate like that of Burgundy, France. Coincidentally, the location of the Sokol Blosser estate is perfect for the notoriously temperamental fruit. You would be remiss if you didn’t try your hardest to win this outstanding three-year vertical collection of Magnums. The 2010 Dundee Hill Pinot Noir is extremely concentrated yet delicate and elegant, packed with intense flavors and a distinctive earthiness. The 2011 (91 points, Wine Enthusiast) is tightly structured for long-term aging, yet the tannins are soft and smooth, meaning it will hold up well to intense flavors but not overwhelm. The 2012 (92 points, Wine Spectator) is expressive, bright and elegant. Cheers!

Known as “The King of Cabernet,” legendary winemaker and owner of Saddleback Cellars, Nils Venge, makes stellar wines that not only reflect the character of the Napa Valley region, but also seem to reflect Nils’ personality—bold, yet approachable, with layers of complexities. With this lot, you will have the chance to explore those complexities to the fullest. This vertical collection of the signature Saddleback Cabernet Sauvignon includes the 2006, a full-bodied wine with opulent, jammy, black fruit flavors layered over silky and supple tannins and an amazingly smooth lingering finish, making it a perfect accompaniment for grilled steak or short ribs. The 2007 vintage, given 93 points by The Wine Advocate, displays provocative aromatics of ripe berries layered over rich velvety tannins, producing an impeccable multi-layered mouthfeel. It elegantly complements grilled steak, braised short ribs, rack of lamb, and aged cheeses. And last but not least, the 2008 was awarded 91 points by The Wine Advocate, offering up “plums, black cherries, licorice, and grilled herbs in a somewhat compact, midweight style best suited to near-term drinking with anticipated maturity in 2012-2016.” These are three wines not to be missed!
