Enjoy a glass of wine as you tour the exhibition with The Center’s curators and special guest, Henry Whiting, the current owner of the Archie Teater Studio.
Idaho is home to just one building designed by world-renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright: Teater’s Knoll, located on the edge of the Snake River. Teater’s Knoll also happens to be the only artist studio Wright designed that was actually built. This exhibition considers Teater’s Knoll within the larger context of Wright’s architectural practice and philosophy. It features architectural plans and photographs as well as a selection of paintings by the artist for whom Teater’s Knoll was designed, Archie Teater (1901–1978). An Idaho native, Teater was a prolific painter whose impressionistic landscape images and history paintings documented his experience of Idaho and the American West.
