Start your Gallery Walk at the Center!
Each year Sun Valley Gallery Association hosts seven gallery walks (exhibition openings for all SVGA galleries), which are eagerly anticipated and free to the public. Locals and visitors alike take in thought-provoking exhibitions of newly installed art, enjoy wine, mingle with friends, and often meet the artists.
When was the last time you received a hand-written letter? Or sent one? In this era of instantaneous communication, a handwritten letter is a rare and treasured item. From Charles Gute’s presentation of mundane tweets as Western Union telegrams to Gail Tarantino’s translations of her own letters into patterns of colorful dots, the artwork in the exhibition considers the changing nature of communication. Will social media make us less…social?
I Need to Tell You Something: The Lost Art of Letter Writing and Communication Today exhibition on view Feb 26–May 6, 2016 at The Center, Ketchum.
