Learn how to use your flash off camera. Participants of this workshop will learn to how to effectively control the Quality of Light, Direction of Light, and Color Light from their small strobes. You’ll learn how to use soft boxes, umbrellas, grids, snoot’s, reflectors, color gels and bounce techniques. You’ll learn how to select which techniques are best suited to a particular subject and scene. David will also discuss grip equipment for proper rigging, packing and preparing for location assignments.
The mornings will be devoted to lectures, demonstrations and critiques; the remainder of the day will be spent practicing lighting techniques on campus and on location in and around Sun Valley. By weeks end, participants will have gained confidence in their lighting skills and a strong foundation for developing their own lighting techniques and style.

David has specialized in location work for corporate annual reports for 33 years and has traveled around the world on assignment for clients such as: Fluor Engineering, Newmont Mining, Barrick Gold, Washington Group, CH2M Hill, Anadarko Energy, Chevron Energy and many others. David’s work has been featured in Photo District News, Nikon’s Learn and Explore Web Site, and has taught his Small Strobes Big Results workshops at Santa Fe Photographic Workshops, GPP (UAE), Maine Media Workshops and over 60 workshops in Austria, Manila, Saudi Arabia, London, and Switzerland.
This workshop will take place daily Tuesday-Thursday, June 26-June 28, 9am-5pm.
