Sharron Matthews is an award-winning cabaret performer. Her performance of “Full Dark” was named by broadwayworld.com as Best Cabaret Performance of 2015 and she’s won “Best of the Fest” at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.  Her performances include storytelling and mash-up pop songs – think Shirley Bassey meets Madonna.

Sharron has performed on TV, stage and in films. She grew up in Hamilton, Ontario and moved to Toronto when she was 20. She always wanted to be Cher, Marie Osmond, Carol Burnett and Dawn…from Tony Orlando and Dawn…and if you are too young to know who Dawn is…she says, “sigh.” So she set out…to be all of those people…as well as Tim Curry from Rocky Horror and Dame Edna…as well as the most excellent version of herself! Sharron has created a “Cabaret for Kids” for the Young People’s Theatre of Toronto and will bring her experience as an actor, performer, and singer to students while in the Wood River Valley.

Guests 21 and over will receive a complimentary glass of wine with their ticket. The performance is geared for those 16 and up.

The Center’s commitment to Enhancing Arts Education

Sharron Matthews will be performing in local schools as a part of The Center’s ongoing commitment to Artist Residencies. Artist Residencies are supported by Gayle Marie and in part, with funds for International Guitar Night and Las Cafeteras provided by the Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF), the Idaho Commission on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. The 2016-2017 Performing Arts Series is sponsored by the Wood River Inn.
