This workshop is geared towards teens who have little or no watercolor experience. Students will create several finished landscape paintings with bold and vibrant colors. We will walk through all the basic elements that you will need to have in your back pocket to master several different watercolor techniques. We will then incorporate these techniques into finished pieces ready to be framed! Students will walk away with a complete watercolor kit that they will be able to take home to continue practicing the watercolor techniques that will be taught in the class.
Instructor Jennie Kilcup is an Idaho native, born and raised in Sun Valley, and currently living in Boise. She started using watercolors at the age of 8 in beginning watercolor classes, and expanded her knowledge by self-taught techniques. Jennie’s medium of choice is watercolor on paper, enhanced with pen and ink etchings. Her subject matter consists primarily of Northwest wildlife and landscape scenery. Her palette is highly colorful, bold and vibrant. When she is not painting, she enjoys Idaho’s beautiful outdoors and golf.
