This workshop will fuse the technical side of videography with the storytelling side. Workshop participants will learn the camera, how to get proper exposure, while achieving different types of shots and angles. Once the technical basics are covered student s will then learn the elements on how to tell a story through cinematography.
Ben grew up in Northern California where he developed his passion for cinema and photography. Being mostly self-taught, he has worked professionally in the industry since 2007. Taking a job at a local video production house shortly after graduating high school, and later moving to Texas where he held the position of Lead Cinematographer at a Studio near Dallas. Ben has filmed and Directed several short films, Music Videos and Promos.
He moved to the Wood River Valley in 2012 after visiting for the summer and consequently falling in love with the area and his now wife, Lacie. He is part owner of Dark to Light Productions, a local video production house in Hailey. He believes in the power of story to communicate, connect, and unify. He believes that everyone has a story and aims to tell it with light and shadow.
This is a two-day workshop that will take place Sat & Sun, Jan 27 & 28, 10am-4pm.
