Hold on to your hats, folks. And read closely. This is a wine weekend getaway to beat them all. Go coastal and join the winemakers of the Central California Coast in San Luis Obispo (SLO) on the beach for the largest wine and food event of the year, the 2015 Harvest on the Coast. Your trip begins at Talley Vineyards, where proprietors Brian and Johnine Talley will give two couples a private tour and tasting, along with a farm-to-table lunch, pairing their award-winning wines with locally-sourced organic cuisine from their Talley Fresh Harvest farm. For three generations, the Talley family has farmed in coastal San Luis Obispo County, beginning in 1948 with specialty vegetables and producing estate wines beginning in 1982. As a souvenir of your experience, you can bring home two Double Magnums of Talley Vineyards Rosemary’s Vineyard Pinot Noir.

The next day, get up close and personal with the winemakers of SLO Wine Country during the “Crafted on the Coast” collaborative winemaker dinner. This five-course dinner will feature outstanding local cuisine paired perfectly with several of the region’s wineries, each presented by their winemaker during the dinner.

The party continues on Saturday, with VIP early entry passes to Harvest on the Coast. Your group will enjoy the ocean-view Grand Tasting at the Avila Beach Resort, featuring rare and reserve wines along with food from over two dozen local chefs and artisan food producers and live music by local folk rock band, Moonshiner Collective. You’ll also receive front row seats to the Wine & Lifestyle Auction, the winemaker-hosted auction featuring rare wines, culinary treats and over-the-top destination experiences.

Your stay wouldn’t be complete without beachside and ocean-view lodging for three nights at the Avila Lighthouse Suites, a relaxing retreat in Avila Beach. This all-suite hotel is nestled between rolling green hills and the expansive Pacific Ocean and offers a beachfront pool, onsite spa, a challenging golf course nearby and easy access to the San Luis Obispo wine region, where all sorts of fun will be happening.
