A Diamond Mountain Gem

Located just two miles southwest of Calistoga, California, Diamond Mountain has a long and rich winemaking history in Napa Valley. Wineries located in the Diamond Mountain District (DMD) AVA are small-production, family-owned wineries, ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand cases each year. In 2008, Ed and Irene Ojdana purchased a six-acre estate on Diamond Mountain. The unique site produces low yielding, small berries that reveal a rich and concentrated wine with flavors of blackberries and cassis. To soften the tannins, typical of mountain fruit, Vineyard {511} Cabernet Sauvignon is aged in 100% French oak for 30 months, followed by another 12 months of bottle aging before it is released. Enjoy this three-bottle vertical of the vineyard’s Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, starting with the 2009, its first release, presented in a beautiful wooden box, and appreciate the vintage-to-vintage nuances that occur in a single-vineyard wine.
